Emberloot

Privacy Policy. Effective October 11, 2026.

Emberloot collects nothing.

The Service is a personal game library where you list the games you own or want, read game titles off your own screenshots, keep notes per game, and draw a suggestion of what to play next from your backlog. It runs entirely on your device, requires no account, works offline, and sends no data to us or to anyone else. The sections below describe that in full.

About this policy

This document outlines our approach to gathering, utilizing, and safeguarding your data when you interact with the Emberloot mobile application (referred to as the “Service”). Your continued engagement with the Service signifies your agreement to the terms detailed within this Policy.

Information collection and use

We do not collect, request, or receive any personal information. There is no sign-up, no login, no online profile, and no account of any kind. We never ask for your email address or any other contact detail in order to use the Service.

We also do not automatically gather any of the following:

  • Device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or IP addresses
  • Location, contacts, microphone, or camera data
  • Usage statistics, behavioural analytics, or crash reports

The Service contains no cookies, no tracking pixels, and no comparable tracking technology. It does not display advertising, does not participate in any ad network, and offers no in-app purchases or subscriptions.

Data storage

Everything you create in the Service is written to your device’s local storage and stays there. This covers the games in your hoard with their names, status, platform, genre, release year, score, hours played and sittings, the covers and screenshots you attach to them, your scrolls (notes) with their tags and pins, the sigils (saved filters) you name, the omens drawn each day and the rerolls used, the pressure gauge and the eruption chapters you have opened, and your preferences (the evening reminders switch, Calm motion, the list or cover view and sort order, and whether you have seen the introduction).

This information is never transmitted to us. We hold no copy of it and have no way to read it. It is removed when you delete the app. A single game can be removed from the hoard together with its screenshots and scrolls. Everything can also be reset at any time with Erase everything in Settings, which asks for confirmation and offers a Cancel button before anything is removed.

Use of data

Because no data reaches us, we do not use your data for any purpose. The information stored on your device serves one function only: to let the Service show your games, notes, statistics and story progress the next time you open it, and to weigh the daily omen against your own backlog.

We do not profile you, do not build audiences, and do not sell, rent, or trade information about you, because we have none.

Third-party access

Emberloot uses no third-party services. There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising networks, no crash-reporting tools, and no social or tracking integrations of any kind embedded in the Service.

Consequently, no third party receives your information from us, neither in identifiable nor in aggregated form.

Disclosure of data

We cannot disclose what we do not hold. Even when faced with a legal requirement or governmental request, we have no personal data to produce, because none is ever collected or transmitted to us.

Data retention

We retain no data about you, so there is nothing on our side to keep or delete. The information held locally on your device remains for as long as you keep the app installed, and is erased when you delete the app, remove a game, or use Erase everything.

Children’s privacy

The Service is suitable for all ages and contains no advertising, no purchases, and no online communication features. Because we collect no information from anyone, we collect no information from children, including children under 13 (or 16, depending on regional laws).

Photos and screenshots

You can choose an image from your photo library as a game cover, or pick a screenshot so the Service can read a game’s name from it. Images are chosen through the system photo picker, so the Service sees only the single image you select and never gets access to the rest of your library. The Service does not ask for photo library permission and never browses your photos on its own.

Reading a title from a screenshot is done by the text recognition built into your device’s operating system. The image and the text found in it are processed on the device and are never uploaded. A screenshot you keep is stored as a file inside the app; you can forget it at any time.

Permissions

The Service asks for no permissions. It does not use the camera, microphone, location, or contacts, and plays no sound.

The Evening reminders switch in Settings only records your preference; the Service schedules no notifications and does not ask for notification permission.

Network use

The Service makes no network requests. The hoard, screenshot reading, the Omen, the scrolls, the Lorekeeper tips and the Caldera statistics all work on your device. The single outbound connection is the one you start yourself by tapping Privacy policy in Settings, which opens this page in an in-app browser view.

Security

We highly regard your confidence and are dedicated to shielding your information. The strongest protection we can offer is structural: data that is never collected and never transmitted cannot be intercepted, breached, or leaked from our side. Information stored locally is protected by your device’s own operating-system safeguards.

International transfers

No international transfers take place. Your information does not leave your device through us, so it is never moved to or stored on servers beyond the borders of your state or country.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may undergo revisions periodically. Any modifications will be published on this page, and the “Effective date” will be adjusted to reflect these changes. Your continued engagement with the Service following any updates will signify your acceptance of the revised Policy.
